On The Water

Maintain a lookout in the pilothouse at all times. Look and listen. Watch out for the risk of collision.
Stay to the right side of the channel when leaving and entering the port. Do not impede large vessels.
Do not fish in the ship channel when large vessels are near.
Five short blasts on the horn or whistle mean “DANGER OF COLLISION”. If you hear this, look for other vessels.
Listen to VHF channel 16 at all times. Listen to VHF channel 13 when entering or leaving port.
Shrimpers need to raise their outriggers once they get inside the jetties.
